“ Wait... Did I just find the BEST restaurant in Oakland?!? Yes, I did. Okay so first, the service. I usually start with the food, but this place is exceptional. They greeted me upon arrival and as soon as I said reservation, they called me by name. The whole place was crackling with good vibes and fun music. I install set to challenging them and they didnt blink once. I ordered things, I changed my order, I asked them to order for me, and they just shot me welcoming retorts, kind faces, and fantastic recommendations. I started with a rockfish cebiche, which can be harrowing, but this was sublime. It was accompanied by a small bowl of friedbaked and salted corn kernels. The dish to me a good long time to finish because every bite was an exciting adventure into the sea. The fish bites were perfectly sized and the local seaweeds were packed with flavor. Between bites of tart I popped kernels of salty goodness that brought out entirely new flavors from the dish. For the entree I was served a variety of fried shrimp and white fish with sauteed squid over a salty bed of beans and rice. A delicate white wine and mint reduction over the top added layers of flavor that were simply, and delightfully, unique. The shrimp were served with heads on and every crunchy bite was fresh and tasty. None of the seafood was over done or salted, which paired perfectly with the salty bed. The ambiance, the party in my mouth, the frankly attractive server what a pleasure. I will be back and Ill tell all my friends. Thank you, Pucquio Im hooked. ”
“ Our family of three shared as much of the menu as we could sample. All of it was excellent. We recommend trying at least one of the cebiches we had Mosiaico Cebichero, one of the fries we had salchipapas a salad we had quinoa, and some main dishes we had both aji de gallinna and lomo saltado. Also, dont forget the sangria. We shared the dessert, too. We had bombitas. We cant wait to go back again. Very kind service, too. ”
“ A front row seat by the kitchen watching Chef Carlos his team whip up fabulous Peruvian food at Pucquio. We feasted on ceviche, pork belly, and braised pork shoulder, accompanied by some incredible wines. For dessert, vermouth on the rocks with a twist. Service was top notch too! ”
“ I cannot recommend you this jewel enough!! I would give them a 105! From the beginning, I was impressed with the vibe. Its such a cozy gem in Oakland. The atmosphere and the service are top notch. You might need to be a little patient, but thats because they are preparing your dinner from scratch. Meanwhile, the host makes sure you are well attended. The ceviche mixto its a great starter. Then we had pulpo as appetizer. And we closed with Chancho pork. Everything was at another level!!! For drinks, if youre indecisive, their sangrias are a GREAT option For dessert, the sweet potato little bread is awesome! I literally sucked the very last crumb and the sweet liquor that comes with it. Im a have, and Ill be coming often. ”
“ This is by far the best Peruvian cuisine experience outside South America I have ever had! I love Peruvian so I always try their restaurants. I was seating in front of the food preparation area and I was very impressed, I want to come back and try it all. This was an excellent gastronomic experience ”
“ Fantastic restaurant. Cant believe Ive waited this long to try it. Ceviches and the shrimp bisque was exceptional. Fresh and flavorful. The pork adobo was good but lacked the punch that the prior dishes had. Also if youre looking for a cocktail I highly recommend the pisco sour. The service was impeccable. Friendly without being over the top. Did not pressure us to order more or drink more like some places that come by every 5 min asking if you want another drink. Will definitely be returning. ”
“ Cant say enough about how amazing this food is. We make a long drive to visit as often as possible. Fabulous ceviche, wine, lomo and other incredible Peruvian dishes. The service is superb and the chef and his team make you feel like family. Love them! New outdoor heaters are awesome. Highly recommend. ”
“ What a lovely scene with friendly service. Intimidate setting. Easy to find but tough parking. I recommend sitting at the counter because you can get a full view of meal prep. Lomo Saltado was a classic and meat was seared to perfection. Fish Ceviche was fresh. Dessert was kind of like a donut with a sweet potato filling and cream dip. I didnt drink the wine but the server sounded knowledgeable about the selection. Great date spot. ”
